Worldwide South Africa has of the highest number of reported rapes and people living with HIV/AIDS.Since HIV can be transmitted during rape, the human violation is even worse.Research evidence shows that men who rape are also violent in partnerships and engaged in risky sexual behaviour.Following a social constructivist perspective, a radio series on the link between HIV and sexual violence (SV) explored raising community awareness in a low-resourced setting.Interviews took place with 38 people aged 19-62 years.Data was analysed using Thematic Content Analysis.
