Selectfluor is a commercial available and bench-stable mild organic oxidant. There have been numerous recent reports of the use of Selectfluor in transition metal-catalyzed reactions. In particular, the combination of Au(Ⅰ) and Selectfluor in C-C and C-heteroatom bond forming reactions. In most of these reports,Selectfluor was thought to take the role of mild oxidant that enables new modes of cationic gold catalysis involving an AuⅠ/AuⅢ catalytic cycle. In these cases,Selectfluor was used as stoichiometric amount.Recently,we developed a series of gold-catalyzed cyclization of enynals/enynones based on the discovery of NHC-AuCl/Selectfluor being a highly efficient catalytic system for the activation of enynals/enynones.In our system,Selectfluor was used in catalytic amount.NHC-AuCl/Selectfluor catalyzed the generation of o-QDMs(o-quinodimethane) through the reaction of enynals/enynones 1 with alkenes.
