The Tarim River Basin is divided into five second-level basins to evaluate and analyze the urban economic and social systems and the basin’s resources and environment system in the second-level basins. The results show that the development of the urban areas in the Tarim River Basin is quite different. Among them, The overall level of urban and rural development in the basin is highest, followed by the Aksu-Weigan River Basin and the lowest in the Hetian River Basin. The resources and environment system in the northern Kunlun-Altun Mountains basin is less disturbed by human activities. The Yarkand-Kashgar River The eco-environment system of the basin is relatively stable, and the resources and environment system in the Kaidu River-Peacock River Basin is vulnerable and faces severe pressure on resources and environment. On the basis of this analysis, the coordination between economic and social systems and resources and environment systems is analyzed. Among them, The Kashgar River basin has the highest coordination, the second is the Kunlun-Altun Mountain basin, and the lowest is the Kaidu River-Peacock River basin. The 42 towns in the Tarim River Basin are classified as advanced type and synchronous type in urbanization Grinding type, urbanization lag type, low-grade grinding type and other five types, most of which are still in the urbanization of urban lag type and low grinding type. Therefore, the need to recognize To coordinate the coordinated development of economic and social development with the development of resources and environment and adopt an appropriate mode of development so as to achieve the coordinated development of the regional economy, society and resources and environment.
