Tough hydrogels capable of dissipating energy under cyclic loadings have been widely pursued due to potential applications for the replacement or engineering of load bearing tissues.1 Numerous strategies have been developed to create energy dissipation mechanisms in hydrogels aiming at improving the toughness and/or fatigue resistance.
