Objective:To discuss the mechanism for promoting bone union by stress and the clinical effect of external skeletal fixation technology without bone graft for treatment of complex bone nonunion and defect.Methods:10 fresh human tibias as well as the straining value and stress value were measured before and after installing half-ring sulcated extemal fixator.Then tibia fractures were made in the middle and the compressions with same weight were conducted,the stress decays were measured.The tibia fractures of 60 rabbits tridimensionally was fixed with the half-ring sulcated external fixator,separately exert pressure that was equal to 0 time (Group A,Control group),1/2 time (Group B),the same (Group C),1.5 times (Group D) of the rabbits weight to press and fixed the fractures.
