This paper presents a method to predict plasma evolution during VDEs on HL-2M tokamak with developed DINA code. The numerical simulation process is implemented under graphical programming control using Matlab-SIMULINK environment. The experimental evolution of the plasma and magnetic diagnostic data during VDEs with taking into account of halo currents generation are reproduced. The calculation results of the tokamak plasma evolution include the equilibriums of plasma, coordinate of plasma axis, plasma current, and halo current, current in vacuum vessel and electromagnetic loads in conducting elements of vacuum vessel. The research results show that the developed DINA code can predict the plasma evolution process very well. And the simulation results are significant to study the relative mechanism. This method can provide reference for plasma evolution of other tokamak.
