Summary of Background Data:The prosthetic disc nucleus (PDN) is designed to treat patients suffering from degenerative disc diseases especially lumbar disc herniation.Clinical trials for the prosthetic disc nucleus were first conducted in 1996,and the results showed that the PDN device was effective in most of the patients who were implanted.These studies only had been carried out with short-time follow-up.The main complication was the device migration.Therefore,a long-term follow-up study based on one single of the PDN device was designed to evaluate its clinical results.
