May-Thurner syndrome (MTS) was first reported in 1957.It was defined as compression of left common iliac vein by the overriding right common iliac artery. Not until 1967 " iliac compression syndrome "was proposed by Dr.Cockett.Several modalities of surgical treatment were devised without significant success. The intraluminal venous stenting in MTS was first reported in 1995.Since then, the endovascular management has gained a niche in the treatment of MTS.In our vascular practice, we have replaced the open procedures withendovascular treatment since 2007.
