Objectives Therapeutic hypothermia is regarded as the only effective treatment for post-resuscitation brain injury after cardiac arrest (CA).However, the underlying mechanism remains unclear.Vacuolar H+-ATPase (V-ATPase) has been shown to play a key role in cells adaption to a hypoxic environment.The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of mild hypothermia on V-ATPase and whether it is involved in the neuroprotection after CA.Methods Male Sprague-Dawley rats were subjected to 6 min cardiac arrest and resuscitated successfully.
