An upwind technique for the localized method of approximate particular solutions (LMAPS) is proposed for solving the convection dominated problems.The central approximation to the diffusive terms and upwind approximation to the convective terms are implemented by choosing upwind interpolation stencils.The proposed upwind LMAPS scheme is also been compared with the conventional LMAPS without upwind technique, to demonstrate its superiority in generating high accurate solutions than the latter.Numerical results show accuracy and efficiency of the proposed upwind LMAPS for solving a variety of convection-diffusion problems.
