  The EHD enhancement of convection heat transfer of water in a jacket pipe heat exchanger was studied through experimental method in the paper.In the experiment, a DC high voltage electrode was put in the central tube-side of the heat exchanger, while the shell-side wall was connected to the ground.The high voltage electrode in the tube-side was adjustable.Five different combination experiments were conducted under the different voltage and rate of flow.The results indicate that heat transfer coefficient increases as the increment of electric voltage to some degree, and the maximum amplitude of heat transfer enhancement is 22.4%.When the electric voltage ranges from 0kV to 10kV, the EHD-enhanced coefficient θ can increase unobvious.However, as the increment of electric voltage after that, it increases significantly.In the experimental condition, when the flow rate of tube-side inlet is 0.lm3/h, the maximal enhancement coefficient θ is 1.224.
