Previous studies in our laboratory show that Spodoptera litura innexin2 and innexin3 are conserved, expressed and formed hemichannels in multiple lepidopteran cells.Recently, the transcriptome of hemocytes of S.litura had been finished in our laboratory.Based on RNAseq data, a new innexin family, innexin4 (inx4) were isolated and characterized.
