Because of their excellent mechanical properties, CNTs are the most promising filler for the next generation composites.CNTs film may be able to take place of carbon fiber fabric in the field ofprepreg.However, the mechanical properties of the frec-standing CNTs films, called buckypapers, fabricated by filtration-from-suspension, are weak, resulting in bad manipuility.The reason may be that in buckypapers carbon nanotubes are sticked together only by the Van der Waals force, and short of effective joint between the tubes, such as chemical bonding, polymeric cementation.
