A new method for the analysis of neutral components in the simulated mouth absorption solution of mainstream smoke was proposed on the basis of an apparatus,which was designed and made by ourselves to simulate the biophysical and biochemical process of cigarette smoke flowing through smoker’s mouth during smoking a cigarette,and GC and GC/MS measurements.It was applied in the analysis of mainstream smoke for 40 kinds of cigarette products.It was indicated that there were evident differences among the GC chromatogram profiles for the neutral components in the simulated mouth absorption samples from different brands of cigarettes.35 GC peaks were identified with MS.
