A series of mesoporous aluminas was prepared using different synthesis methods.The aluminas synthesized by using soft template (ST) and solvent evaporation (SE) methods had high BET specific surface area (200~300 m2/g).Contrarily, the specific surface area of alumina prepared by Ceramic method was low (only 58 m2/g).These aluminas were used as supports of the active cobalt for the catalytic combustion of CO.The materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), N2 adsorption-desorption (BET), H2-temperature programmed reduction (TPR), transmission electron microscope (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscope (XPS).
