Background Drugeluting stents (DES) have been shown to significantly reduce clinical events and angiographic restenosis in the treatment of coronary artery disease (CAD).We aimed to assess the longterm efficacy and safety of two SirolimusEluting Stents (the biodegradable polymer—eoated sirolimuseluting stents,EXCEL and the polymerbased sirolimuseluting cobaltchromium stents,Firebird 2)in the treatment of patients with CAD and Type 2 Diabetes.
