The rub-impact of rotor/stator is one of the major factors which affect the stability and safety of a rotating machine, in which the characterization of the rub-impact force is a key problem in the prediction of dynamical responses of the rotor.A novel hysteretic rub-impact force model is proposed for the impact of the structure with the effect of coating in this article.In order to investigate the validity of the rub-impact force model, a pendulous rub-impact experimental device is designed.
