Trust has many layers,of which propensity to trust,interpersonal trust and institutional trust are important to consumers’decision making.And these three layers vary independently with each other.This paperdevelopsa theoretical model of trust to distinct andto test the interrelationshipin hospital-doctor-patient context,using regression and fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis.The findings in this paper reveal that (1) Trust propensity is the dominant factor for patient’s purchase decision(2) Institutional trust is positively related to doctor-patient trust and patients’purchase intention (3) thepossible causal combinations of three types of trust will increase/decrease patient’s purchase intention.
