Capillary electrochromatography (CEC) is a hybrid technique combing capillary electrophoresis (CE) and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with high efficiency, high speed and good selectivity.Monolithic capillary columns used in CEC are synthesized by the in situ preparation of polymer of silica based monoliths with various specific functionalized groups.Ionic liquids (ILs) and polymeric ionic liquids (PILs) have been attracting the attention of researchers in GC, HPLC and CE due to their specially properties. However, either ILs or PILs modified monolithic column are used in CEC.
