Scanning probe microscopy and optics are the workhorses in various research fields including condensed matter physics and surface science.The combination of scanning probe microscopy with optics is expected to provide new research capabilities and possibly yield new insight of photoinduced processes that are crucial to many important applications from solar cells to photosynthesis.In this talk,I will present some of our past and current research efforts to combine the two powerful,yet complementary,experimental tools.
