　　This study was performed to investigate the chemical structure of novel compounds and anti-cancer activity of citric acid pretreated Korean red ginseng.Fresh ginseng was soaked in citric acid solution and pressure was reduced.Red ginseng was produced through steaming,shaping and drying of pretreated ginseng.Ginsenoside pattern of the red ginseng was analyzed by LC-MS.Two subfractions (F1,F2) were isolated u(s)ing prep-TLC and determined chemical structure.Inhibition of cancer cell (HepG2) viability and induction of antioxidant response element(ARE)-receptor gene activity were also investigated.
