  Light is one of the most important factors for phototaxis growth in anoxygenic phototrophic bacteria.Rhodopseudomonas palustris has served as a model organism to elucidate spectrally different light-harvesting complex (LH), Moreover, much progresses have been made towards elucidating the BChl a biosynthesis.Therefore, Rhodopseudomonas species have aroused intensive interest in photosynthesis research.This work aimed to explore the variation in cell growth, photosynthetic pigment compositions and contents in response to different light quality(red, yellow, white, green and blue) and intensity(0, 500 , 2500 and 4500 1x) in Rhodopseudomonas palustris.
