The lateral line system,as highly sensitive flow sensors, can be found in most fishes. The lateral line system consists of two types of sensitive flow receptors: superficial neuromasts(SN)and canal neuromasts(CN).Cavefish usually lives in the dark karst caves for most of its time, and the eye of some cavefish are even degenerated. As a result, the lateral line system of some cavefish plays an even more important role in their life than normal fish.
