To compare responses of female Aedes aegypti,Anopheles minimus and Culex quinquefasciatus to four plant essential oils(citronella,hairy basil,catnip and vetiver)with two repellents(DEET and picaridin)and two synthetic pyrethroids(deltamethrin and permethrin).Two different actions,noncontact repellent and contact irritant actions of the eight compounds were identified using excito-repellency test system.Results displayed that An.minimus and Cx.quinquefasciatus displayed powerful responses to all test compounds except picaridin while Ae.aegypti respond to two pyrethroids better than others.
