AIM: Activation of cardiac fibroblasts into myofibroblasts constitutes a key step in cardiac remodeling after myocardial infarction (MI), due to interstitial fibrosis.Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), especially hypoxia-preconditioned MSCs (H-MSCs), have been shown to be able to improve post-MI remodeling.
