The purpose was to compare the effects of resveratrol (RES) and genistein (GEN) on contractility of isolated uterine smooth muscle from rats, including spontaneous and activated contraction, and to study the underlying mechanisms.Uterine strips were suspended in organ chambers containing Krebs solution, different concentrations of RES and GEN were added to ex-vivo uterine strips, the spontaneous and activated contraction were measured before and after incubation with RES or GEN.
