  Purpose: To evaluate the feasibility and reconstructive efficacy of chimeric flaps pedicled with lateral circumflex femoral vessel(LCFV)for the reconstruction of through-and-through oral and maxillofacial defects.Methods: A retrospective review was performed of 41 patients who underwent reconstruction of through-and-through oral and maxillofacial defects with chimeric flaps pedicled with LCFV from January 2009 through December 2012 in the Second Xiangya Hospital.The methods of chimeric flaps design and defects reconstruction,as well as reconstructive efficacy,are reported.
