近年来，重金属污染事件不断发生，重金属污染通常以mg/g或μg/g计量，由于量甚微，通常被人们所忽略。但由于重金属的高毒性和积累性，对人体的伤害却是致命的。其中铅污染较为典型，铅的半衰期较长，并且铅在人体内的积累会对器官会造成永久性损伤，如心血管系统、生殖系统、肺、肾脏等。
