The thesis examines the evolution of the Labor Market in China starting from DengXiaopings reforms up till today, the influence of Chinese cultural context on the strategies toadopt when managing human resources in China, the business environment, the management of personnel and the new era of labor in China.
The thesis target is to put a focus on the importance of understanding the Chinese market, culture, traditions and development in order to successfully manage human resources in thisgreat country that will soon become the first economic power in the world.
The increasing importance that China is taking in todays economic and geopoliticaluniverse brings with it the need to address and overcome the stereotypes with whichforeigners see this country. One of the key elements that are most important in the pathtowards this complex world is the people.Perhaps the philosophy that anyone coming toChina should hold is that in humans there are more elements of commonality than diversity.Wherever you live, in any culture you have been raised up, people live the same survivalissues first and development after, personal growth and collective improvement, passion forwork and balance with the rest of life.Trying to address what is in common more than whatdivides, can help build strategies for living and working in a more appropriate way.
A Chinese proverb says“天下一家”, “under the sky we are all one family”.
