The purpose of this research is to find out the design of a new adjustment into the headrest for car seats to support the neck to give comfort and security safe when passengers are driving a car.This work is part of the process of design and innovation of Chongqing Nantong Yanfeng Johnson Controls China.　　The Headrest is a protection device,part of every car seat with the only function to protect head and neck of the passengers in case or rear-end collision.The main problem comes when the passenger do not properly fit the headrest,its means,if the head is separated from the headrest in case of a car accident,that will move violent into the front and back what leads to neck injury,or whats commonly known as whiplash.　　To understand better the problem,everyone has the opportunity to drive a car or be a co-driver or passenger,but many people ask to himself,why none of the head rests ever seem doesnt fit or why the design for the headrest doesnt feel comfortable?and is your head really supposed to be resting against it when you drive?All of this questions are the most typical when we feel pain in our neck,when we drive a car its doesnt matters witch model it is,if thats old or a new car,the answer to all this questions are simple because the typically called a head rest is technically a restraint which is part of the vehicle safety system.　　About the adjustments,not all restraints are alike,some restraints or head rest or are not adjustable or can be move to forward,backward or up and down.Ideally the head-rest should be adjusted close to the back of your head as you can get it while still being comfortable,and as high on your head as you can get it.　　The features in the car are designed around an average size and weight,so its not surprising that the head restraint or head rest doesnt fit like perfectly.Its for that reason we need to understand which one is the most proper adjustment can prevent or lessen a neck-related injury in a rear car crush accident,this is the principal function.　　The IIHS(Insurance Institute for Highway Safety)rates vehicles for crash safety using crush dummy,and part of those ratings is a rear-impact test to determine how well is the seat and head restraint to protect the drivers in a rear-impact collision,all of this to get the lower risk of injury results.　　Research by the Insurance Bureau of Canada(IBC)has been shown that drivers can reduce whiplash related injuries by as much as40％if the head rest as proper adjustment but there is the problem because most of drivers dont know how to do it or simply are not aware of the importance of this device.　　Therefore,according with the facts,for sure most of the drivers have to buy a pillow because headrest doesnt give comfort,only protection.But if thats possible,make a multipurpose headrest is this research try to looking for.
