日本在文化输出方面一直保持低调,但唯一的例外是动画及电子游戏。这两项的海外传播并没有经过政府或市场之手而是在各地爱好者和民间团体间悄悄流行着。直到20世纪80年代末日本动漫的海外影响受到了国际媒体的关注,这才引起了整个日本的震动,他们甚至不敢相信,曾经被自己“弃如草履”的动漫却如此轻易地打开了别国的大门。很快,由于日本政府的介入,被重新“包装过”的日本动漫打着“动漫外交”的口号在全球的很多国家光明正大地登堂入室了。
Japan has been keeping a low profile on cultural exports, with the only exceptions being animation and video games. The overseas dissemination of these two items has not been through the hands of the government or the market but has been quietly popular among lovers and civil society groups. It was not until the late 1980s that Japanese animation’s overseas influence was grabbed by the international media, which aroused the shock of Japan as a whole. They even could not believe that the anime that had been abandoned by its own people was so easily opened The door to other countries. Soon, with the intervention of the Japanese government, the Japanese animation company that has been repacked has been chanting “Anime Diplomacy.” The slogan of “animation diplomacy” has been unveiled in many countries around the world.
