The analysis of boron in the range of 0.0005 to 0.0100% of steel is undoubtedly difficult for both chemical analysis and spectroscopic analysis. In the case of spectroscopic analysis, the difficulty lies not with the spectral sensitivity of boron itself, but with the serious interference of the iron matrix spectrum. This interference appears to be more pronounced on the ICP emission spectrum so far that there is little research on the method of ICP for the analysis of trace amounts of boron in steel.
