“青年”一词,如今流行于世,人人皆知。然而该词的应用究竟始于何时,却至今不尚明白。搞清这一问题,对于青年工作者尤其是从事青年研究的专业理论工作者不无益处。不久前,黄志坚同志在《古今纵横谈青年》(载《青年研究》1982年15期)一文中提到:“据目前的了解,青年一词在我国的出现约在本世纪初,最早曾见于清末光绪年间的文告。”该文首次接触“青年”一词的溯源问题,显然有其积极的意义。但按文中的提法计算,“青年”一词的出现不过才八十来年,这与史实未免有所抵悟。据本人初步查阅,“青
