中国是一个饮食文化非常发达的国家。中式菜肴名称蕴含了中国人的智慧和幽默。既有实用性又有艺术性,反映了中国饮食文化的历史,也折射出国人的风俗习惯、思维方式及价值观念,有浓郁的地域性文化特色。准确形象地把中国菜名译成英语,可以让外国友人在品尝我国菜肴独特风味的同时,还能从菜名中了解中国菜的烹调艺术和文化内涵。本文结合实例阐述了中式菜肴名称的翻译方法和技巧。
China is a country with a very developed food culture. The name of Chinese cuisine contains Chinese wisdom and humor. Both practical and artistic, reflecting the history of Chinese food culture, but also reflects the people’s customs and habits, ways of thinking and values, there are strong regional cultural characteristics. Accurately and vividly translating Chinese cuisine names into English can allow foreign friends to taste the unique flavor of Chinese cuisine while also understanding the cooking art and cultural connotations of Chinese cuisine from the dish names. This article explains the methods and techniques for the translation of Chinese cuisine names with examples.
