远在上世纪初的第二次工业革命时代,“工业设计”还仅仅处于以改变产品丑陋外观和使用安全性为目标的产业开发后期的“配角”地位。经过100多年的发展,到如今的信息时代,“产品设计”已经成为了企业前期开发、整体营销的重要利器,甚至是产品取得市场地位的关键点,诸如像苹果(Apple)电脑公司推出的数字产品的成功很大程度上就源于优秀的设计思路。当然,现代工业产品设计的目标也发生了很大的变化,不再仅仅局限于外观和安全考虑,怎样更好地发挥产品性能,怎样让系统的效率更高,怎样获得更多的使用价值以及越来越人性化都成为了优秀的产品工业设计理念,特别是在面对自然资源日渐稀少,全球能源普遍紧张以及环境污染等问题,优质、绿色、节能的产品设计更显得尤为重要,“工业设计”也渐渐成为人们打开绿色可持续发展之路的一把钥匙。
