玄关,为丹道中的重大研究问题之一。历代成道祖师对玄关均有精辟之论述,如:老圣曰:“多言数穷,不如守中。”崔希范祖师说:“玄关透露,真种将产,贵乎知时。”唐朝司马承祯祖师说:“虚无一窍号玄关,正在人身天地间,八万四千分上下,九三六五列循环,大包天地浑无际,细入微尘不见颜,此处名为祖炁穴,虚无一窍正中悬。”吕纯阳祖师曰:“守中绝学方知奥,抱一无言始见佳。”张三丰祖师《参禅歌》曰:“初打坐,学参禅,这个消息在玄关”。李涵虚祖师《道窍谈》说:
