新课标对学生的课外阅读作出了量的要求——“五年制不少于100万字,六年制不少于150万字。郊区小学由于所处的客观环境较差,要完成这个目标还存在一定的困难。有相当一部分郊区小学,由于经费紧张,学校图书室只是装扮门面以备上级验收;或因师资短缺,没有专职的图书馆理员,图书室形同虚设。而乡镇级的图书馆里适合小学生阅读的读物又极少;大部分郊区家庭还没意识到课外阅读的重要性,一般都没有为孩子准备大量的课外读物。所以,对于郊区小学的教师来说,指导学生完成新课标规定的课外阅读量,是一项比较艰巨的任务,如何指导郊区小学生进行课外阅读呢?
