There are three ways of using chromium oxide catalyst for ethylene polymerization: solution, suspension and gas phase. When using the solution and suspension polymerization ethylene polymerization, generally need to 60-170 ℃, and to use hydrocarbon diluent. In the gas phase polymerization, the method does not require the use of a diluent, and the reaction is carried out under a condition of less than 120 DEG C to directly obtain the powdery polymer. The method has great advantages over the solution method or the suspension method in the process.
