大写意花鸟画中的“大”字包容很多内容,它不是单纯的笔头大、墨块大,而是指大的境界、大的开合、大的气势、大的心胸,大家风范。我认为大写意花鸟画要宁直勿曲、宁方勿圆、宁涩勿滑、宁粗勿细、宁黑勿淡、宁整勿碎、宁厚勿薄、宁长勿短、宁稚拙勿草率、宁单纯勿繁琐,宁可画面上有这样那样的小毛病,也不要追求笔墨上的“十全十美”。大写意绝不是信手涂鸦,而是更注重细节的把握和处理,有时画大写意比画工笔还要细上几倍。成败在于细节,大写意也是如此,
