It is reviewed the use of Gaussian brackets in the analysis on Gaussian beam transformation by an optical system.4 The definition of the Gaussian brackets are given together with generalized Gaussian constants.Propagation of Gaussian beam through an optical system is analyzed by means of generalized Gaussian constants。
