A recent commentary concluded that, based on available evidence, support seems to play a major role as a placebo. We had telephone conversations with support-led patients to determine why they used support, when to advise patients to wear support, understand the pros and cons of using them, and how well they tolerated. As a result of the survey, 50 patients were identified as supportive during the study period, of whom 27 (54%) completed the telephone conversation and the remaining 23 did not find the telephone number (6) and no telephone (17).
