光影作为自然界一种特有的元素,造福着人类的生活,而光影对塑造物体的体积感、画面的空间感以及色彩的表现的作用也是有目共睹的。于是,安德鲁·怀斯将自然界的光影视为他在水彩画创作中不断推崇并研究的方向,利用光影特有的强弱、冷暖、方向和受光面大小表现不同寻常的艺术效果与视觉感受。在研究光影效果方面,怀斯取得了极其突出的成就,并产生了深远的影响。
As a unique element of nature, light and shadow benefit humankind, and the role of light and shadow in shaping the sense of volume, the sense of space in the picture and the expression of color is obvious to all. As a result, Andrew Wise regarded nature’s light and shade as the direction he constantly respected and studied in watercolor painting. He used the unique strength, warmth, direction and surface size of light and shadow to express unusual artistic effects and visual experiences. In the study of light and shadow effects, Wise made extremely prominent achievements, and had a profound impact.
