Based on the questionnaire, this study found that :1) Elementary learners were inclined to commit more global errors compared to their local errors, whilst advanced learners make more local errors; 2) Interlingual factors were more influential than intralingual factors in elementary learners’ error making, but for advanced learners, intralingual factors played relatively a much more important role in error making; 3) Elementary learners preferred explicit correction whilst advanced learners favoured im?plicit correction in question-asking.
