The rise of East Asia’s economy is obvious. Between 1982 and 1992, the average annual growth rate of East Asia’s GDP was 4.7%; in North America it was 2.7% in the same period, while in Europe it was only 2.4%. In 1960, the sum of GDP of all the countries and regions in East Asia accounted for only 4% of the world’s total. In 1992, the GDP of that country increased to 25% and reached 33% by 2010.
