《中共中央、国务院关于进一步加强和改进新时期体育工作的意见》(中发[2002]8号),全面深刻地阐明了体育在社会发展、经济建设中的重要地位和作用,科学分析了体育工作面临的形势和任务,明确提出了新时期发展体育事业的指导思想、工作方针和总体要求,是指导我们做好新时期体育工作的纲领性文件。现结合我省实际,提出以下贯彻落实意见。一、充分认识体育的重要意义,进一步明确我省新时期体育工作的指导思想和总体要求1.体育是社会发展与人类文明进步的重要标志,体育事业发展水平是一个国家综合国力和社会文明程度的重要体现。大力发展体育事业,对于实践“三个代表”重要思想,维护最广大人民的根本利益,提高人民群众的整体素质,弘扬集体主义、爱国主义精神,增强国家和民族的向心力、凝聚力,推进国际交往与合作,扩大内需、拉动经济增长,加快社会主义现代化建设,具有十分重要的意义。
