磁学和磁性材料这一领域,至少在本世纪二十年代就已是具有丰富内容的成长了的学科,但是却从来没有过象最近十五年来所出现的蓬勃而迅速的发展。这种情况和新近出现在半导体物理及其应用方面的情况一样,都受到了两种因素的促进作用,这就是实际利用方面的广泛需要和新的、较易于作理论分析的材料的发现,从而出现了前所未有的基本研究和技术应用密切结合的景象。
The field of magnetism and magnetic materials, at least by the 1920s, has grown as a rich subject but has never experienced the thriving and rapid development of the last fifteen years. This situation, like the recent developments in semiconductor physics and its applications, is facilitated by two factors, which are the wide range of practical uses and the discovery of new, more easily theoretically analyzed materials. There has been an unprecedented combination of basic research and technology applications.
