1波尔山羊原产于南非干旱亚热带,一个优良的大型肉用山羊品种.波尔山羊的特征为:头大,鼻大,鼻梁隆起,前额突出,眼为棕色,头耳红棕色,额部角基至鼻梁呈白色流星状.角色深棕近于黑色,后倾近圆形,中等长度;侧视鼻梁和角构成半弧形;耳宽大自根部下垂,与嘴齐或略长于嘴,额内凹,躯体长、深、宽,近圆筒状,腰丰满,背平直宽厚.
