Algeria Railway in Africa The first railroad in Algeria was completed in 1860-1862. After the independence of Algeria in 1962, the nationalization of the railway was implemented. In 1976, the transport structure was reorganized. The Algerian railway company attached to the Ministry of Transport was responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the railway. The construction of the new line was undertaken by the railway survey and construction company. Among the 3761km lines, the tracks of 1432mm and 1055mm are 2649km and 1112km respectively. 30kV DC system of the line 296km.
