The authors describe a double-blind clinical trial of 93 cases of herpetic corneal ulcer with 3% acyclovir and 3% Ara-A. The tested patients were observed by slit lamp biomicroscopy after being stained with rose bengal and clinically diagnosed as herpetic keratitis. All patients at the time of first visit were taken corneal swabs in Vreo fine
