在当前大力推动阅读推广活动和图书馆基层服务的良好背景下,对美国“一本书,一个社区”的阅读推广案例进行详细剖析,从活动举办的历史、发展现状及影响着手,对寻找合作伙伴、图书选择、读者宣传、阅读讨论、项目测评等活动各环节进行介绍。借鉴“一本书,一个社区”活动的成功经验,提出我国的阅读推广应是在立足于强化图书馆及其行业素质的基础上,将图书馆作为阅读推广活动的重要推手,在社会参与各方、行业协会、组织领导者、规范流程、优秀读本、充足经费、网站支撑等各要素的紧密衔接下,选取村、社区等合适的活动覆盖单元,充分发挥图书馆在阅读推广中的重要作用,实现流程化规范运作、长效推广,以可持续的阅读推广活动带动全民阅读目标的最终实现。
